For generations, Catholic Sisters, Brothers, and priests have faithfully served communities across the country—as educators, caregivers, pastoral leaders, and advocates for those most in need. As they age, many face increasing care-related challenges.
Support Our Aging Religious (SOAR!) exists as a trusted partner to congregations, ensuring aging religious have the resources they need while aging in place within their communities.
The mission of SOAR! is to enhance the quality of life for aging religious women and men so they can age with dignity and grace. SOAR! provides funding and programs to congregations of Catholic Sisters, Brothers, and Priests in the United States to care for their aging members, with the support of individuals, foundations, and organizations.
Who We Serve
SOAR! grants are intended to support:
- Congregations of women or men religious
- With members age 70+
- Living and ministering in the United States
What We Fund
SOAR! funds projects that help to meet the evolving needs of aging religious, including, but not limited to:
- Health and wellness initiatives that promote comfort and well-being
- Facility improvements and safety upgrades that create secure, supportive living environments
- Accessibility and mobility modifications that support independence and daily living
- Medical equipment, furnishings, and therapy-related items that enhance health, safety, and quality of life

- Accessible – guided by clear expectations and supportive communication
- Simple – making it easy for congregations to apply and access funding
